Welcome to a site dedicated to creating a community that allows youth to grow and learn in healthy environments. These environments emphasize the importance of being substance-free, promote mental and physical health, and encourage all people to grow up ready for work and life.
We do our work based on the proven strategies that include:
- The earlier we start prevention the more likely we are to see long-term reductions in substance abuse rates. Teaching young people the difference between healthy and harmful choices lays the groundwork for early prevention.
- Adults are important role models in teaching young people what is normal and accepted behavior. Thus adults need to be aware of their behaviors, especially surrounding the use of substances and medicines. They are watching us!
- Local community members are in the best position to solve local problems.
- Our procedures, policies and laws are reflections of our community norms -- of what we deem acceptable behavior or not. It is important that we all understand, utilize and work to improve these systems to protect our children.
